Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data EnglishLinie collects, what that data is used for, who else processes it, and your rights under the Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP). This policy applies from the launch of the service, and any change will be published on this page.
1. The data we collect
- Account identity — the name and email address from the account you sign in with, and the sign-in credentials managed by our account provider.
- Learning data — lesson progress, practice and test answers, final level check results, and the vocabulary collection you build inside the app.
- Transaction records — the products bought, payment status, and transaction references from our payment partners.
- Technical data — device and browser type, and data stored in your browser through cookies and local storage (see section 5).
Your card data and payment credentials never touch our servers — they are processed directly by our payment service partners.
2. What the data is used for
- Providing the service: opening the access you bought, and storing and syncing your learning progress.
- Providing support and answering your questions.
- Meeting legal obligations, including transaction record-keeping.
- Improving the material and the service based on combined (aggregate) usage patterns, not advertising profiles.
We do not sell your personal data and do not share it for third-party advertising.
3. Who else processes it
We use service providers that process data on our behalf, only as far as needed:
- Account and database providers — store your account and learning data.
- Payment partners — process payments and report transaction status to us; your card data is processed only by these partners.
- Email providers — send transactional email such as payment receipts and account recovery.
- Hosting and basic analytics providers — serve the site and the app, and count visits and usage in aggregate to keep the service running.
4. Your rights under the PDP Law
You have the right to request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, and deletion of your data and closure of your account. Submit a request through the channels on the Contact page; we will verify your identity as the account holder before processing it. Some records — especially transaction records — must be kept by us for the periods set by legislation, and those parts are excluded from deletion until the period ends.
5. Cookies and local storage
The app uses cookies and browser local storage for functional things: keeping your sign-in session, remembering your display preferences, and storing progress locally so studying keeps working when the connection drops. We do not use advertising tracking cookies. You can delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings; your sign-in session and preferences will be reset.
6. Storage and security
Account and learning data are stored while your account is active. After an account is closed, data is deleted or anonymised, except for parts that must be kept by law. We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures — encryption in transit and access controls — to protect your data.
7. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the change is published on this page before it takes effect. Any privacy question can be submitted through the Contact page.
