Learning English so far

Why learning English so often stalls halfway

Three reasons people stop learning English: the courses are expensive, the material is generic, and there is no clear path.

The courses are expensive

Millions of rupiah for the full path, on a fixed timetable that may not fit your working hours — and a single IELTS sitting alone is Rp3.6 million.

The material is generic

Global apps explain English through English as well, with examples that never touch the job or the exam you are aiming at.

There is no clear path

What to study today, what tomorrow — without a plan, motivation usually runs out within a month.

EnglishLinie closes those three gaps: explanations in Indonesian, one A1–B2 flow, and a clear daily plan.

Before you start

Don't know your level? Start here.

Take the free placement test — about 5 minutes, no account, and the result immediately shows your level and starting lesson. Or simply start from the fully free A1.1.

One flow, not loose features

One complete flow: study until you're exam-ready

Lessons, vocabulary, listening practice, writing, and final checks connect in one loop — you always know the next step, at every level.

  1. 1 Learn Lessons per level, from A1.1 to B2.2: dialogues with audio, new words, and grammar rules — explained in Indonesian.
  2. 2 Remember 3,700 words taught across 8 levels, complete with sound and example sentences. Tap any word and its card opens — then review on a schedule until it sticks.
  3. 3 Listen Listening practice at every level: hear the recorded audio, answer comprehension questions, then say the sentences aloud after the audio — word by word, whole sentences.
  4. 4 Write In the writing step of each lesson, you write a text and compare it with a model answer — check yourself against clear guidance.
  5. 5 Test Every level closes with a Final Check, and the Test & Simulation packs train you in the IELTS & TOEFL formats and their time pressure.

Finish one loop, and the next starts from a stronger position. The same flow carries you from your first A1.1 lesson to exam-ready at B2.2.

How you learn

Five steps in every lesson

Every lesson at every level runs in the same flow — so you always know what the next step is.

  1. 1 Learn Situational dialogues with audio, new words, and grammar explanations — all in Indonesian, with the exercises in English.
  2. 2 Remember Your new words go into word cards and come back on a spaced schedule, so what you learned last week is not gone this week.
  3. 3 Practise Exercises are checked as you answer — 734 of them across the path — so mistakes are corrected on the spot, not carried into the next level.
  4. 4 Check In the middle and at the end of each part there is a checkpoint: your position is measured before you move further.
  5. 5 Test Every level closes with a Final Check. The result shows which parts are solid and which need another round.

Why this path is built this way

The research numbers, as they are.

We don't fabricate testimonials. What we can show you now is the market facts and needs this curriculum is built on — each with its source.

471

Indonesia's EF EPI 2025 score (rank 80, Low category) — the average of self-selected EF SET test takers, around low B1 in reading/listening.

25.01 million

Indonesian tourism workers in 2024 (Minister of Tourism via the Cabinet Secretariat) — the largest service-jobs base for working English.

5,000 / year

Australia's Work and Holiday visa (subclass 462) quota for Indonesia — with a Functional English requirement, an IELTS average of 4.5.

Rp3.6 million

The fee for one IELTS test at British Council Indonesia (Academic and General Training alike) — the reason serious preparation is cheaper than retaking the test.

Courses build the language, exams train the format

Those are two different skills. The main course builds your CEFR ability level by level; a separate exam layer teaches the TOEFL ITP, IELTS, and Marlins formats as skills of their own.

Built on the official levels

Every level's can-dos follow the Council of Europe's CEFR global scale, the study hours follow Cambridge guidance, and every exam fact on the exam pages states its basis and its limits.

Explanations in Indonesian

At A2–B1 — where most Indonesian learners are — fast English explanations become the obstacle themselves. Here the grammar is explained in Indonesian and the exercises are in English.

Common questions

I don't know my level. Where do I start?

Take the free placement test on the Level Test page — about 5 minutes, no account, and the result shows your starting level. Or pick your goal in the goal-path section of this page. You can also start from the free A1.1 and move up when the lessons feel easy.

If I buy one level, what do I get?

That level stays open until you pass it in the app + 6 months (max. 3 years) — the guided course, grammar, reading, listening, vocabulary, and its final check — plus 3 months of Pro. One payment, never renewed automatically. Per-level prices are currently placeholders.

What happens when the 3 months of Pro end?

The level you bought stays open under its own access period — until you pass + 6 months, max. 3 years. Only the Pro period ends. You are never charged unless you choose Pro yourself.

Should I buy a level or Pro?

Buy a level to own one stage and finish it at your own pace. Pro rents the whole path per month: every level while you pay. One level already includes 3 months of Pro.

I have little time each day.

One study day is designed to be compact and split into short steps, and your position is saved after every finished step. Fewer minutes simply means more days — not starting over.

If something's wrong, who do I contact?

Open the Contact page: member support runs inside the app, connected to your account and progress, and most questions are already answered in the FAQ.
